Employee Assistance Program

When you need professional, confidential advice to manage life's troubles, the state's Employee Assistance Program (EAP)  can help. The EAP, provided by E4 Health, offers employees 24-hour telephone access to confidential help from trained counselors. The counselors talk with you about your concerns, give guidance and the right resources. The EAP provides assistance that supports your and your family’s total wellbeing  on a variety of issues, including:

  • Bullying and cyberbullying
  • Peer pressure
  • Stress or personal problems
  • The loss of a loved one
  • Family matters – including relationship issues
  • A job loss
  • Financial and legal issues
  • An alcohol or drug abuse problem

You and your household members are automatically enrolled and can use the EAP for free as soon as you become an employee of the state (most universities have their own vendor; check with your HR Office). If you need more specialized services or treatment, such as legal or financial services or treatment for substance abuse, the EAP will make referrals for additional treatment that may have an additional cost.
