Special Open Enrollment Period for Hurricane Michael-Impacted Employees

Thank you to those who have reached out and inquired about extending open enrollment for those employees impacted by Hurricane Michael or who are dedicated to the response efforts. We understand these employees are rightfully focused on recovery, and we are committed to ensuring they have time and access to make needed benefit changes. In partnership with our vendors, we have created a disaster-related Open Enrollment period for individuals impacted by or responding to Hurricane Michael.

Beginning Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, disaster-impacted employees will be able to call the People First Service Center weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET at 866-663-4735 or TTY 866-221-0268 to elect or make changes to their benefits through Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at 6 p.m. ET.

Disaster-impacted employees will not have to provide specific information or proof that they were unable to elect or make changes to their benefits during the Open Enrollment or Correction periods. The goal of extending Open Enrollment is to ensure disaster-impacted employees can make needed elections and changes smoothly and promptly with the help of People First Service Center agents and without unnecessary wait times. Once benefit elections are made, employees will be sent a benefits confirmation statement to the mailing address provided in People First if they elected to receive benefits documents via mail. Benefits confirmation statements are also available to view year-round online in People First.
