Department of Management Services

Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug

At the direction of Governor DeSantis, the Division of State Group Insurance is offering Medicare-eligible retirees three new qualified Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans (MA-PDs) for 2020.

Capital Health Plan (CHP) MA-PD
Humana MA-PD
UnitedHealthcare MA-PD

An MA-PD is a Medicare Advantage plan that includes Part A (hospitalization coverage), Part B (medical coverage), and Part D (prescription drug coverage). You keep your Medicare Parts A & B and you will continue to pay your Medicare Part B premium.

Enrollment in a new MA-PD plan is optional. If you like the plan you are enrolled in, you may continue enrollment in that plan. If you enroll in a new MA-PD plan during Open Enrollment, your effective date of coverage is January 1, 2020. Please see the service area map below and links to the available MA-PDs that provide coverage in certain service areas.

The new CHP MA-PD plan is an additional option to the current CHP plans currently offered under State Group Insurance.

The new UnitedHealthcare MA-PD plan is an additional option to the current UnitedHealthcare plan currently offered under State Group Insurance.
